Official Name:
Aleks Kenya
(Russian for Defender of Innocence)
Nicknames:
Alek (shortened name), Cloud (people from his town refer to him as a rain cloud because of his dreary appearance), The Earl's Phantom (those who don't understand him and have seen him in combat believe he is controlling Akuma, as they have voices of their own), and little miss (he looks like a girl) are Aleks's nicknames.
Age:
About 13 years old.
Gender:
Male
Alignment:
Good (Alignment may change depending on which doll is speaking for him.) Kloun is well known as his good alignment, while Erna tends to be his evil alignment. Sometimes their positions will change as they come upon different disagreements, but that is generally how the order goes.
Appearance:
Aleks is a small boy for his age, standing at 4'3" and weighing only 80 pounds. Because of his delicate appearance, he's often mistaken for a girl when people don't get a good look at him. He has short organized gray hair and deep blue eyes, with a face that seems glued into a sad and withdrawn look. Aleks arms and legs are incredibly smooth and dainty, and look as if they've never been bruised when seen. There's never any dirt under his fingernails, as he is as clean as he is withdrawn.
To add to his depressed features, Aleks generally wears dark colors, covering it all with a small dark blue suit. He is dressed like a small gentleman, with small shiny boots and a tie included. He has never been seen in something torn or stained, as he and his family has inherited enough funds from damages to keep himself well kept. The boy often carries around a gentleman's walking stick for moving things he wouldn't want to touch out of the way, or harshly poking people in the back when he desires attention.
Aleks has several little trinkets he carries, but his most treasured item once belonged to his friend, Alina, who died horribly during an Akuma attack. It's simple in appearance, as it seems to be nothing more than a golden pendant with a split red stone, as it was damaged during the attack. The pendant is actually the anti Akuma weapon that Aleks uses to control the two dolls, as it resonated with his thoughts (he has an extremely high connection to his innocence) and allowed him to display them in a physical form.
(Picture coming, couldn't find one I liked, so I'm going to draw it.)
Kloun is a very tall and chunky half-size clown doll, standing about 4'9". His face is porcelain, and the typical happy clown face makeup has been painted carefully to give him a friendly and cheerful appearance nearly all the time. Kloun is almost always smiling, although sometimes the power from the innocence can alter his face into a very disturbed looking frown or grin (an incredibly rare occurrence) that can creep out just about any observing person. He wears a dark purple and blue polka dotted jumpsuit, with white and pink frills and lace that tie off the costume and decorate the neck, cuffs, and feet of the suit. Lastly, to go with his shiny brown eyes, tufts of blue hair stick out on either end of his head, as his striped jester like hat doesn't totally cover it all.
Erna looks surprisingly human even though she is nothing but a possessed doll, as she stands about 3'11. She is dressed as a gothic lolita, wearing the standard black dress, boots, laced leggings, and headband. She tends to have an exceptionally beautiful face, well framed by curled brown locks of hair, though her delicate and sweet appearance betrays her true motives and attitude. She has lifelike green eyes, with painted black lips that move as if she was real because of the enchantment Aleks's innocence has over her. There is very little of her pale skin that shows, as the lace and soft fabric hides well the doll like features that would quickly reveal her identity to others.
Defining Features/ Disabilities:
Aleks has never had a perfect mental condition, and after a horrendous tragedy involving his mother, Alina's father, and his closest friend (his childhood crush, Alina), Aleks stopped speaking completely, for he had been mentally and physically scarred. Three years have passed since the incident, but Aleks still refuses to speak, with the only communication received being from the two dolls that he always keeps with him. As they he has a dual wielding innocence ability, the two dolls represent two different halves that remain from Aleks's shattered mental state.
Goals/Ambitions:
Aleks's goals and ambitions are not entirely clear, as the two dolls that speak for him have completely different personalities, and rarely agree on anything. The only thing that is clear (once people get to know and understand him a little) is that he wants to find a way to destroy the Millennium Earl and all Akuma that he created.
Kloun's goals are simple, keep the family and friends well entertained, happy and safe. He despises any Akuma or people that would desire to harm or remove the awkward family, and loves those who would accept him and his personality. A secret part of him wishes that he wasn't just a part of Aleks's mind, and hopes to one day find a way to become a person of his own, as well as take off the makeup that 'plagues his face'.
Erna has a passionate hate for all Akuma, and most people, seeing them as nothing but 'blemishes' on the earth. She desires to become free of Aleks's control, but for strange reasons, has not taken the innocence endowed pendant for herself. In truth, not only does she believe that the innocence would not choose her as a bearer, she also wants Aleks to be safe, and to help find a way to give Kloun his own body. Despite her strange affection for her two companions, hate and rage often clouds her actions, and controls her more than anything else.
History:
Aleks's History
Aleks is a Russian child who lives in the small frozen village of Verkhoyansk. He was born to a hard working mother (Yelena) and father (Athos), and had a close friendship with the Emsky family. He was raised like a son through both families, developing a close relationship with the only daughter of the Emsky family, Alina. The families grouped together, even sharing the same house when the weather grew too cold to support the individual manors, and shared most of their belongings.
Despite the frozen wasteland condition of the village, and the poor lifestyle the two families led, Aleks lived a happy childhood, with little concern or need for most material objects. He enjoyed the simplicity of his life, seeing no need to associate with other children his age, instead preferring to follow Alina around, serving her every wish. The Emsky family's only child was treated much like a little princess when Aleks was near, as he enjoyed spending time with her, even if it meant playing her silly little games and wearing a crown.
As time moved on, Aleks developed a childhood crush on Alina, becoming jealous when she spoke to other boys her age (he was nine, and she was eight XD), and manically depressed when she would order him to go away. Aleks's parents believed that there was something wrong with his mind, that he did not develop well because of his secluded raising. They took him to see several psychologists, all of whom said that he had an unstable mental condition, and should be treated with caution. The young boy was watched closely every day, and he was never to leave the house alone, as they feared he would have a mental break down.
Although Alina's concern of Aleks's obsession of her deeply frightened her, she had also became quite fond of the boy, giving her one of her favorite necklaces. She wished that his parents were more forgiving towards the boy's odd nature, and felt that he would normalize if given the proper time and care. Alina had no idea that the pendant she had given to her friend would later become the Anti Akuma weapon that Aleks would fight with, as it resonated with his mind and thoughts. Alina was Aleks only friend while he suffered, as she had enough patience to understand his peculiar way of thinking.
People throughout the town were convinced that Aleks would eventually go mad and would be restrained to an asylum, but he continued living quietly with his only friend without disturbances until Alina's father passed away from a heart disease. While Alina and the rest of the family mourned, Aleks searched for a way to resurrect her father, as he would do anything just to please her. The Millennium Earl gave him the offer to bring the Emsky child's father back, and Aleks took it, without knowing that the father would become an Akuma.
As the newly created Akuma chased Aleks about the house, Alina entered the room to see the Millennium Earl giving demands to the fresh Akuma. She helped Aleks escape the room through the linked bathroom window, only to be pulled back into the room. Aleks rushed to the nearby inn to cry for help, but nobody listened, as they refused to believe an Akuma actually existed. By the time he had returned to the home, the Akuma had finished it's work, and Alina stood by his mother, smiling.
Aleks's mother had no idea what had happened, as she had not heard the commotion during her sobbing. Within a few moments, the Akuma in Alina's body had killed Aleks's mother before he could do anything to save her, and began to chase him once more through the snow outside. The Akuma was relentless, but for the boy's sake, slow. He managed to make it to town square, where it killed several of the villages citizens as it chased him.
Before long, an exorcist was on the case, as the exposed Akuma was causing quite the ruckus. His life was saved by none other than the exorcist known as Armin Cantiss Lee, who destroyed half of the village during the process. Having already had a bad experience with a run away apprentice, she left Aleks behind despite the fact that there was innocence in the pendant he wore, figuring he would find his own fate, dead or alive.
Several of the remaining villagers shunned Aleks, as they blamed him as the cause of all the destruction. However, even with their losses, Aleks's father and Alina's mother still took him in, wanting to give him a place to stay rather than abandoning him. They did indeed fear the child, for as soon as Armin had left the scene, Aleks had possessed two dolls that now spoke in his stead with the power of the innocence. Very little of what he did was questioned, and in time, people began to address the dolls instead of the child, as they quickly took on personas of their own.
Aleks now tends to wander the village alone, his two dolls playing as his escorts through the alleyways of his small home. Even with the dolls as his spokesmen, they rarely address people, and tend to hide in the shadows for fear of rejection and judgement. As most of the people who had witnessed the events that transpired have died or left the village, most of the story has been lost to anyone but Aleks and his parents. There are now several rumors about the story, and many have come to believe that Aleks killed his mother and friend himself, or that the boy in the story is merely an angered ghost.
Kloun's History
Abandoned and broken, Kloun originally belonged to Aleks's father, Athos. As a child, Athos loved Kloun, and spent many a night sleeping in the belly of the large clown doll. While he was playing outside, Kloun was dropped quite harshly on frozen ground, shattering the delicate porcelain face. The broken clown's face was collected, and the pieces of his body was left alone to collect dust in the attic.
It wasn't until Aleks was born was the faceless clown pulled out once more to become a chew toy for the baby. Aleks loved the clown, even as he grew older, and had several times attempted to piece the clown's face back together, but to no avail. He wasn't repaired until Alek inherited the innocence from his friend, and on that day, he was animated, or 'born'. Kloun was quick to befriend the frightened Alek, and loved serving him and his partner in battle, Erna.
Erna's History
As the Emsky family once belonged to a rich heritage, they had a professional create a life size doll of their beautiful only daughter, Alina Emsky. The doll was made tall and thin, to resemble the Russian style ballerinas, and was given dark dressing based on the daughter's choice, as she loved the japanese lolita dress styles. Although a toy created for the child's pleasure, the doll was never actually used, as it was both heavy and fragile. Instead, the lolita doll waited in display, never to be touched until Aleks pulled her out of her glass closet, for he had attempted to resurrect Alina through her doll.
Instead of recovering Alina's lost spirit, Aleks imprinted another part of his personality into the doll, creating another weapon like Kloun. Erna did not like being awoken, as she took to beating Aleks until Kloun held her back. She refused to help in any way, until Kloun promised that he would make Aleks destroy her if she did not accompany them. Since that day, she has followed Aleks around, still battering him to this day for his flaws.
Personality:
Aleks personality is withdrawn and depressed, as if he never stopped mourning for his losses. He had a very strong bond with his childhood friend that was shattered, and he blames himself for every death that occurred on that night. He rarely shows any form of emotion spare sorrow, and feels most comfortable when he is left alone with his odd companions. Aleks also has a defensive side, not for himself, but for Erna, the little female doll that accompanies him, as a part of him feels that she is the reincarnate of Alina's will.
Kloun is in all definition, what remains of Aleks's kind, caring, soft, and happy attitude. He is rarely angered, and is often concerned for the trio's safety, as Erna and Aleks are often reckless. Kloun is often playful and forgiving, and enjoys living a carefree lifestyle as long as his friends are not injured. He loves to meet new people when they seem like they're kind, although he's painfully shy at first meetings for fear of people breaking his porcelain face. Once Kloun makes a friend, he loves to follow them about, trying to do any little thing he can to cheer them up and make their day brighter, but can often accidentally become an annoyance when not wanted or needed.
As Aleks's other side, Erna is dark, angry, cruel, and unforgiving. She is often seen pushing Aleks around, as she represents his anguish, pain, and regret. Although she rarely seeks to be helpful to him in anyway, she's oddly loving to him and Kloun when they've been wounded, as she has an almost bipolar caring attitude. Erna does care for Alek, and wants him to survive in the end, but views all others as meat for the Akuma. She is generally hateful around people of any kind, and tends to be the first to become angered when Kloun is joking around.
Weapons and Tools:
Aleks's pendant does nothing but imprint his emotions into an item that he desires, and has locked on two dolls he now uses himself company. He is practically defenseless when faced with an Akuma, with his ability to run quick and jump high being his only saving grace. Aleks never fights his opponents head on, and does not carry any weapons, relying only on his possessed dolls to help him.
Kloun tends to use sheer force and strength to fight his master's enemies. He loves his powerful kick, but never uses his hands to hit the enemy. Instead he relies on a small wooden hammer that he was built with, and uses it to deliver quick blows. (The hammer does not grow like Lavi's, it stays small, and has no special abilities.) He is terrified of anybody smashing his face, and will often stop during a combo attack to protect it.
Erna often acts like she is indestructible, using her heavy body to crush, tear, and snap her enemies in two. Because of the innocence, her body has become reinforced, and does not suffer from the typical damage that a porcelain doll would during an impact. Her favorite strategy involves digging her hands and feet into her enemy so that she may work on tearing them apart from the inside out.
Although Kloun and Erna could manage to make an exceptional team, they are more likely to be fighting with one another than against an Akuma. Aleks is forced to run from most bad situations, as his puppets simply refuse to work together, and he has had no mental training to focus his powers. At the moment, he and his dolls rely on pure chance and random combat maneuvers to survive.
Once Aleks meets Hevlaska, he will receive an 87 percent innocence connection, as the high connection gives him such a high power over the dolls. He has little idea that it is his emotions that control the dolls, as he thinks the power he found within Alina's pendant can grant life upon nonliving objects.
Friends/Family:
Aleks's only living family is his father, Athos, though he is close friends with his old friend's mother, Galina. The two still let him live between the two different family manors, though they now do their best to keep any ties to the child as subtle as possible. Aleks's only living (if you can call them that) friends are Erna and Kloun, his Anti Akuma weapons.

Not much moved in the silent town of Verkhoyansk, a quiet snow fell over the village like a giant suffocating blanket, the gray clouds ahead looming at what remained of the low population. People huddled up to the fireplace in fear of what lurked outside, as several visitors had gone missing. Many believed that it was the fault of the ghosts that would circle the village, as they remained outside even during the harsh blizzards, and were often at the scene of several disappearances.
Aleks cared little for what the other locals thought, they were pitiful, and understood little of the real story. Not that he cared to explain it to anyone; he still hadn't the strength to speak, and convinced himself that his voice had left for good. He helped his friends navigate through the cold winter night, occasionally pulling Kloun's thick body out of a deep pile of snow. They had to go shopping late tonight, as he preferred to avoid people in general. Anybody could easily become an Akuma in this desolate town, grief filled practically every town. He still had yet to meet a master that would take him in, and was trying to maintain the fragile balance that kept his two partners from strangling each other. They lately refused to work together, and it was making life difficult for Aleks, especially in the face of an Akuma.
"So... how long until we get there? At this rate my face will fall off before we can reach your house!" Kloun complained, shaking the settling snow from his shoulders. "Not long, now shut up and keep walking you bulbous freak. You're slowing me down!" Erna glared, earning a funky chuckle from the other doll. "Aww Erna, why so cold?! Haha! Cold? That's the problem right? You're absolutely frigid!" He shouted to be heard, the shrill wind picking up quickly as the two made their way to the house.
Just as Aleks began to worry that they had indeed lost their way and they were going to die among the frozen trees, he caught sight of the poorly shingled roof of his home. "T-thank god!" Cried the joyful clown as he dashed ahead, grabbing the grocery bags from Aleks, leaving the mute boy and the angry porcelain doll to glare alone. Before Erin and Aleks had even caught up, Kloun had already opened up the door, and was stashing the newly bought items away in the cupboards.
"If I could... I would beat him til his face shattered all over again." The lolita doll growled, helping Aleks close the door behind them. "I'm sick of his constant rambling and senselessly cheery attitude." Erna spat, kicking the wooden floor, earning a weak shrug from Aleks. "You know, one would wonder if there's even thoughts running through your head anymore. You're pointless and weak!" Battering Aleks through a smirk, she turned away before she provoked any kind of response from the boy.
"Aww, leave him alone, Erna girl! He's having a rough time!" Defended Kloun, but the two fell silent as Athos descended the stairs. The father gave a saddened glance at Aleks's direction, refusing to look him directly in the face as he grabbed something from the kitchen. As soon as he came, he climbed the stairs once more without a word. Aleks sat down, his look of sorrow worsening on his face, earning pitiful stares from the two dolls.
Slowly, Kloun sat next to Aleks, wiping tiny tears off the suffering boy's face. "Aww, it okay Aleks! You'll fix everything up in no time! I'm here..." He soothed, stopping the boy's crying, but not much else. Even Erna silenced her bickering to watch the boy, a small amount of pity lingering in what she believed to be her heart. Someday, he would make things right, after everything he had done wrong. Aleks promised himself that one day, his father would look on him with pride, and he could truly earn Alina's forgiveness for his crime.
Additional Information:
Although both of the families are poor, they were given a substantial amount of money after Armin cleansed the town of Akuma. During her rampage, she removed the roof of their house, along with several other parts of the town, and was sued after being caught for damages. To plan ahead, Aleks's father Athos rebuilt the roof on the cheap, and kept the rest of the money to care for his son at a pleasant distance.
